Childhood illness can have a devastating effect on families. As well as the fear and uncertainty, there are the practicalities of keeping the family together when a child is away in hospital, often for extended periods. Ronald McDonald’s House Charities® (RMHC®) has been making life easier for seriously ill children and their families in Australia since 1981, and Hyundai Help for Kids is proud to support their vital work.

Since opening the first Ronald McDonald House in 1981, RMHC® have helped more than 100,000 families, with one in eight Australians having been assisted or knowing someone who has been supported by one of their programs.

RMHC’s programs cover the full continuum of care to help seriously ill children and their families across Australia, with each program focused on making the journey to recovery as easy as possible. Whether it’s providing support and accommodation to nearly 300 families a night at one of 15 Ronald McDonald Houses, or offering respite and a comfort haven in the eleven Ronald McDonald Family Rooms located inside hospitals, RMHC is making everyday life for a sick child that little bit easier by keeping families together, because families are stronger together.
