Little Wings is a not-for-profit organisation supporting The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick, and John Hunter Children’s Hospital at Newcastle. Their goal is to assist children with cancer while they are undergoing treatment, by providing a free flight service to and from the hospital. Little Wings aims to lessen the travel fatigue, financial burden, emotional strain, and length of separation for sick children and their families.

The free flights are both scheduled and on short notice for sick children and their carers to attend treatment at the hospital facility. Once a child is accepted into the Little Wings flight program, flight requests are submitted, supported by clearance for travel to and from Sydney and Newcastle, which include the provision of ground transport from the airport to the hospital. Children who benefit from these flights are given the opportunity to recover at home, and great benefits are often seen in patient recovery rates as a result.

Highly skilled pilots fly modern late model aircraft which have been equipped with the latest satellite navigation, weather mapping and flight management systems, paramount for safety, as well as appropriate medical treatment equipment to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of patients during transport.

Hyundai Help for Kids is proud to help this vital service with the funding of a vehicle support program. By assisting families with transport from airports to hospitals and back, Hyundai Help for Kids gives Little Wings a helping hand on the ground while they continue to fly their precious cargo in the air.
